Semester 1 Welcome Dinner + New Club T-shirt!!

On Friday the 15th of March, following hundreds of years of tradition (not really), MUTW held its annual Welcome Dinner at some random restaurant in Melbourne.

The night started right after a great session of pain training, with people just hanging out in the Mindbody Studio, making introductions, having lively chats while waiting for others to get ready. It was very encouraging to see a good mixture of senior members and fresh faces in the group of twenty which decided to stay for dinner. When everyone was finally ready, we went to the restaurant together. While the road to the restaurant is uneventful as usual, I must say that some of our senior members, the fit and beautiful young people that they are, walk as slow as molasses in January (June, July, August in Aus but you get the idea).

Upon arrival, we were seated at our reserved tables and ordered our dinners. The individual portions at this restaurant are pretty big, so most people shared dishes. There was not a silent moment at dinner, even after the food arrived, conversations were still going strong with topics ranging from what we did this summer to "Why am I being volunteered to write this blog?!?!" Just lovely. Anyway, someone ordered chicken livers and pig intestines, so I'm sure lots of people had things to say about that too. We stayed for quite a while after dinner, having fun catching up and passing the pig intestines between the tables.

Eventually we had to leave when the restaurant started dropping hints that they wanted to clean up and close soon. Unfortunately we forgot to go get ice cream (another MUTW tradition), I'll be sure to bring that up next time. Here's a picture of everyone who showed up!

Almost everyone...

Oh WAIT WAIT! An announcement as well! *clears throat*

We are getting new club t-shirts! Yay! While the t-shirt we currently have fulfills its purpose, I feel that it's starting to look kind of bland and makes me look fat. So I totally welcome this decision from our committee! While I do not have a picture of the new shirt, I can show you guys the new logo that will be going on the back:

Pretty Good huh? :)

Special thanks for our very own Kylie Sy doing all the work in putting this together!
